What’s on at Nine Oaks -
Summer 2024
After the success of our debut in 2023, we are thrilled to be hosting our second season of open-air theatre on the vineyard. We have a full and varied programme of five events spread across the Summer, with something for everyone! Family matinées and English classics in the heart of the Kent countryside. We are delighted to welcome back Quantum Theatre and excited to welcome Changeling Theatre to Nine Oaks for the first time.
Doors will open an hour before each performance for you to come and enjoy our beautiful setting. All events are accessible but please email info@nine-oaks.co.uk with any questions or specific requirements.
Performances will take place come rain or shine so do dress appropriately for the weather!
Bring a picnic and join us for a glass (or bottle!) of our celebrated Kent wines.
Henry V
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers
Changeling Theatre are proud to present Shakespeare’s epic masterpiece, Henry V.
A young superstar King has ascended the English throne. When his advisors tell him the French throne is rightfully his too, Henry falls for their persuasion. An insult from the Dauphin – heir to the French throne – is enough to trigger Henry, who gathers a mighty fleet and invades France.
After defeating the French at Harfleur and Agincourt, the young King makes the old King of France swear to hand the throne to him on his death, making him King of both countries. To seal the deal he marries the old King’s daughter, Princess Katherine.
Based on the events of the Hundred Years’ War, Henry V is much more than a historical documentary. It is a play about the merits of war, set against the moral and personal cost of conflict.
Once more unto the breach dear friends…
